First apartments in Skövde Science City are rented out

Skövdebostäder has now released twelve apartments for rent in the Bostället area. The building is located in Mariesjö, where Skövde municipality is investing heavily to create a vibrant and dynamic neighborhood with up to 4,000 homes in the long term.

The residence consists of two buildings located at the junction of Mariesjövägen and Lärkstigen, next to the Thai House restaurant.

- It is a really good location. The tenants are close to the University of Skövde, Science Park Skövde and the city center with its offerings, says Maria Bunyemen, landlord at Skövdebostäderna.

Rented via the housing queue

The first 12 apartments at Bostället are available for rent until March 30.

- There are one- and two-bedroom apartments with occupancy on September 1. The apartments have their own balcony or patio and a studio costs SEK 5,850 per month. The homes are rented out via our housing queue and you register interest via the website during a week. Later, we will also release 59 more apartments at Bostället," says Maria Bunyemen, landlord at Skövdebostäderna.

To be sustainable

Skövde municipality has visions for the Mariesjö area. In Skövde Science City, housing will be interspersed with business premises, meeting places and services. In the future, the district will be characterized by sustainability with footpaths and cycle paths.

- At Bostället, we want to make it easier for tenants to live sustainably. There is, for example, a bicycle house and solar cells on the roofs, says Thomas Liljebo, construction project manager at Skövdebostäder.

How much food is actually thrown away in society and what can be done about it? The founders of the Ätbart association asked themselves this question when they were at high school in Skövde. Now the association runs several projects across Sweden to reduce food waste and food poverty.
A completely new district is emerging in Mariesjö in Skövde. Where industries and business premises were previously located, a new area is now being built where housing, offices, a university, shops and various service functions will coexist. The Bostället residential area, which was ready for occupancy in the fall of 2023, includes two buildings with 71 apartments. Right from the start, there was great interest in the new homes, and one of those who moved in is 26-year-old software programmer Hannes Kindströmmer.
