The groundbreaking ceremony for Skövde's new landmark has now taken place and with it, Noden begins to emerge, right in the center of Skövde and the new state-of-the-art and sustainability-profiled district Skövde Science City.
- The feeling is amazing! We have been waiting and planning for this for a long time. It will be fantastic to get this going, the building will be really cool and a landmark in Skövde Science City," says Karolina Sahlström, CEO of Kreativa Hus Skövde.
Kreativa Hus creates growth environments where ideas, innovation and entrepreneurship can grow in a world of opportunities. With its 11,000 m2 spread over seven floors, Noden contributes to the city's development as an inspiring meeting place. A knowledge hub with a strong identity for both new and established companies in Skövde. An inviting and inclusive place equipped for the future - where you don't just want to be, and stay, quite simply!
Noden - a creative growth environment for innovation and entrepreneurship
The pace of innovation and proximity to Stockholm and Gothenburg mean that more people are moving here and establishing companies in Skövde. It offers state-of-the-art infrastructure, adapted to the latest technology trends and the needs of game development.
- It will be a workplace for at least 400 people and a unique addition to Science City. Premises are available from time to time, but Science Park Skövde's growth is so significant for both Skaraborg and Skövde and the owners are clear that we need to build to secure the future. Otherwise, there is a risk that people will choose other places in Sweden or the world to establish themselves. So the fact that we are finally moving forward is very welcome," continues Karolina Sahlström.
Sustainability in focus
Skövde Science City extends beyond just working life and growth. It also includes a comprehensive sustainability commitment to both the environment and society. The node will be no exception, with a strong focus on material optimization and energy efficiency. Ecological, social and economic sustainability will interact to enable and highlight sustainable choices for tenants, property owners and visitors.
The project aims to conserve resources and find optimal solutions for function, aesthetics and use. Examples of sustainable solutions in Noden include photovoltaic production to minimize electricity consumption, and energy sharing between buildings. Several of the Creative House buildings will be connected to the Node, enabling energy and cooling to be sent between buildings and reducing the overall CO2 carbon footprint. Noden is also being built with climate-friendly cement and with an optimized concrete frame to minimize environmental impact.
