The Sweden Game Conference is back in a new format

With the aim of bringing together the Swedish gaming industry, the Sweden Game Conference is back between October 23-24 at Skövde Kulturhus.

Under the theme Strengthening the Swedish Games Industry, Sweden Game Conference invites participants from all corners of the games industry, politicians and representatives from the Swedish innovation system to discuss this year's theme.

For the first time ever, the academia within games also gathers in Skövde during the Sweden Game Conference, in collaboration with the Swedish Game Research Council, the University of Skövde and Science Park Skövde. Eight Swedish universities will discuss pedagogy and educational issues in games.

In the foreground, some people are seen sitting and listening to someone sitting on a stage and talking. One person in the audience has yellow hair.

The game project of the future is pitched

Like previous years, aspiring and professional game developers and startups are also welcome to the conference. There, they can meet recruiting local game studios at Recruitment Fair, have their portfolios reviewed by professional game developers, see game studios from all over Sweden showcase their games in the expo Indiecator, and take part in interesting panels and talks. In addition, selected game studios will pitch their latest projects to a panel of investors and publishers that will contribute to the Swedish game wonder during the Sweden Game Pitch.

They found each other's friendship during high school in Gothenburg. Now, in Skövde, Dazed Games is aiming for the next big step with the game Out of Hand Deluxe, after the free version was played by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide and released the online version of the multiplayer game on Steam on Thursday.
Building cohesion and strengthening the community is crucial for the game development industry in Skövde to continue to grow. This is the opinion of Tau Petersson, Skövde resident of the year 2024, who has been a central figure in the city's game development scene for decades.
