New festival in Skövde - Culture and Sport in Focus

On February 8, 2025, Skövde will host its first-ever Culture and Sports Festival, putting local associations in the spotlight. The festival aims to showcase cultural and sports practitioners, highlight associations within the municipality, and create a shared and exciting day for the whole family.

The festival offers a diverse program of hands-on activities outside of the cultural center and around the entrance area - a perfect start to the sports holidays!

Outside the cultural center, visitors can enjoy an ice rink, a hobby horse track and ball sports organized by various Skövde associations. Inside, there will be a photo marathon, opportunities to try role-playing, create music with a loop machine, and many other fun activities, says Emma Laurén, cultural officer at Skövde Municipality.

Festival highlight: the Motivation Show and a grand finale

During the day, Tobias Karlsson and Magdalena Forsberg will present one of the festival's absolute highlights: the inspiring performance The motivation show.

- In our darkest season of the year, we want to inspire and motivate visitors with this sparkling show," says Emma.

The festival concludes with a grand celebration at Valhall in the cultural center. Tobias and Magdalena will host the evening, where several awards for associations will be presented, interspersed with performances, music, and show elements. Prizes that will be awarded are the cultural scholarship, the honorary prize, the enthusiast of the year, the athlete of the year and the association leader scholarship.
