International expertise enriches companies in Skövde

Skövde is home to many companies that show that competence knows no borders. Whether it's game development or medical technology, the international perspective is a natural part of everyday life and an important key to success.

The right skills regardless of background

Coffee Stain, known for its creative game concepts and international success, has long attracted talent from around the world. International employees are a big part of the team, and the culture is based on a natural openness to different backgrounds.

Force HT, an innovative tech company focused on the future of health technology, started its journey with a global perspective. From day one, English has been the working language and international employees a natural part of the recipe for success.

Both companies emphasize the importance of being open to talent regardless of origin. For them, international recruitment has been a natural and strategically wise way forward.

– For us, it has been quite natural to recruit internationally, says Pär Gustavsson, founder of Force HT. We have built the company with English as the working language from the start, and both product and customer dialog is in English.

Hos Coffee Stain the proportion of international staff is around 60-70 %. This is not just a matter of strategic investment, but of openness in recruitment. We attract talent from all over the world.

– Many people in the gaming industry are used to thinking globally, says Anna Friborg from Coffee Stain. They see no obstacles in moving internationally for the right job, it's part of a global career and a natural part of industry mobility.

A dynamic work environment and a social force

The international element creates more than just breadth of skills. It contributes to new perspectives, greater understanding and a richer working environment.

– There is a different dynamic when the team consists of people with different backgrounds. It provides business benefits, but also a more enjoyable everyday life, says Pär Gustavsson at Force HT. Coffee Stain agrees, here it is the interest in gaming that is the common denominator.

– Our employees are united in their passion for games, no matter where they come from. As a result, we often become friends outside of work, says Robert Lazic, CEO of Coffee Stain.

Practicality is not an obstacle

Both companies highlight that the practicalities of international employment are often easier than you think, especially if the person comes from an EU country.

– We help in the beginning with things like bank ID, health center and government contacts. The most important thing is that the person also gets the chance to build a life here, not just a job, says Anna Friborg at Coffee Stain.

Force HT has also used programs such as Jobbsprånget, which matches foreign-born graduates with Swedish employers.

- It gives us the opportunity to test the match in an internship first. It is safe for both us and the candidate and we have found fantastic competence that way, says Pär Gustavsson.

Low staff turnover

A common concern among companies is that international staff may not stay. But both Coffee Stain and Force HT see low staff turnover.

- Several of our employees have chosen to settle in Skövde, create a life here and stay, says Pär Gustavsson at Force HT.
