After an evaluation of several cities by the Swedish Sports Confederation and SVT, it has now been confirmed that Skövde will once again host SM-Week Winter. Four years after the last SM-Week (Swedish Championships) in Skövde, it's time once again.

Every year hundreds of new recruits come to join the regiments and thousands of new students arrive to attend the university. Not to mention all the newly arrived talent relocating from near and far to join our expansive local companies. In recent years we’ve upped the pace considerably and are now building around 400 new homes a year.

On Billingen, the mountain literally at the heart of the city, you’ll find mountain-biking trails, pump tracks, high rope courses, running tracks and hiking trails. When winter comes and the temperature drops, we up the tempo a little. Billingen is an official Vasaloppet centre, with over 35 kilometres of cross-country trails worthy of elite skiers.
Mountain – check! What else does Skövde have to offer? Well, if there were a competition for the number of nature reserves, we’d definitely be on the podium. There’s a host of different nature areas, offering magical forests, open pastures, mountain landscapes and entrancing views.
Now you can live in Skövde Science City and become a neighbor to a whole cluster of game development companies or Fintech companies. Here, sustainable housing is interspersed with exciting meeting places and business premises. Best location! Not least because you can walk to the city center, university, travel center and Science Park Skövde in just a few minutes.
Did you know that Skövde is one of the country’s biggest film and theatre centre’s outside of our major cities? The city offers you at least one cultural event every day, 365 days of the year.

Love golf? Perfect, Skövde actually has three really great golf courses to choose from, with several other fine courses to visit in the surrounding area. And don’t be surprised if you meet elite players out on the course. They often play here.
In the city center there are charming shops, large shopping centers and many restaurants and cafes. For those who want to experience Skövde by night, there are of course bars and nightclubs.
