Swedish game developer Stunlock Studios recently released the biggest and most ambitious game they have created. V Rising, an open-world fantasy vampire survival game is now available on Steam Early Access after a promising closed beta. By the end of May, over 500,000 copies of the game had been sold and has had over 150,000 concurrent players.

Building castles and searching for fresh blood

In V Rising, you must survive as a newly awakened vampire in a human-ruled world and rise to become the next Dracula. You must feed on blood to gain new powers, hide from the blazing sun, and engage in real-time PvE and PvP (Player vs Environment and Player vs Player) battles set in a dark fantasy world. Make your way through the gothic world of Vardoran alone or cooperate on official servers with up to 40 players, fight mythical monsters and brutal bandits and build your magnificent castle while searching for fresh blood to survive.

- We are very happy with the response we have received so far, it has exceeded our expectations. V Rising is our biggest project ever and we are really looking forward to showcasing more of the game in the near future", says Johan Ilves.

Inspiration from horror films and comics

The Skövde studio has already released successful games such as Battlerite and Bloodline Champions. The inspiration for the new title V Rising has come from several sources, such as classic horror movies to Netflix's new Castlevania series to create a world full of conflict where vampires, humans and mythical creatures coexist in a delicate balance.
