Time to level up and move to Skövde?

Why are two young girls from Argentina leaving Berlin for Skövde - and loving it? A dream job at Palindrome game studio and nature is part of the answer.

Paula and Flor made the decision to move with their two dogs, despite the fact they could barely even pronounce the name Skövde and had only googled the city, with the philosophy: If you don’t play – you don’t win. not the big city, Skövde's nature is incredible and Skövde's lovely dialect makes them smile, as it sounds like a record played backwards.

Paula, Senior Animator, and Flor, a 3D Artist, were warmly welcomed at Palindrome, and accommodation and relocation all worked out perfectly. They were surprised to find that the gaming industry, which is generally a male-dominated sector, felt more equal and open here. And the residents of Skövde were not at all as reserved as they had been led to believe. The natural landscape proved to be totally amazing, and even daycare for the dogs was sorted immediately.

Let’s Explore Skövde!

They met when they were both working at CIARDI, a state-founded animation studio in Buenos Aires, in 2014. Their interest in animation and visual storytelling then brought them to Berlin and it was there that a close friend of the couple saw the Palindrome job ad. Paula and Flor became interested in the company, but couldn't even pronounce Skövde and knew nothing about the city. After some googling, however, it seemed that Skövde had everything they were looking for, the slower pace and nature.

Marta and Santiago moved to Skövde a year ago to study industrial engineering with a minor in automation. Thanks to the close collaboration between industry and academia in Skövde, they got an opportunity to put their knowledge to test. The two of them carried out a thesis project at Elektroautomatik, an automation integrator founded right here in Skövde. The success of their project led to a summer employment, giving them a chance to connect, explore and enjoy Skövde a little longer.
