After an evaluation of several cities by the Swedish Sports Confederation and SVT, it has now been confirmed that Skövde will once again host SM-Week Winter. Four years after the last SM-Week (Swedish Championships) in Skövde, it's time once again.
- It feels fantastic that we have been entrusted with hosting SM-Week again! This shows that we have the capacity to deliver major sporting events of the highest caliber – and with that, we strengthen our municipality’s appeal to residents, visitors, and businesses alike. We invite all of Sweden to come and experience our winter city, says Theres Sahlström (M),Mayor of Skövde Municipality

- This is proof that we have the ability to deliver events of this scale. Last time we showed we could do it – now we’re building on that experience. Our focus is a safe, well-planned, and smoothly run SM-Week where every part maintains high quality. Through close cooperation between our municipal departments, Next Skövde, and external partners, we’ll ensure the entire experience works – from logistics and safety to event experience and service, says Johan Rahmberg, Cheif Executive Officer of Skövde Municipality.
Hosting SM-Week in Skövde generates revenue for local businesses, fosters a shared sense of pride in the city, and presents an opportunity to attract new visitors. Media coverage during SM-Week provides significant marketing value for Skövde.
- I’m truly looking forward to once again planning and delivering one of Skövde’s largest events through broad collaboration. Now we’re taking all the knowledge and experience we’ve gained and building on it. And of course, we’re going to deliver a fantastic celebration for all our visitors, says Mats Olsson, CEO of Next Skövde.
